I’ve always eaten Collard Green’s one time per year…on New Year’s Day with Ham and Black Eyed Peas…and that was only because it was a tradition that supposedly gets you money, which I never fully understood!
Anniversary 2024 and New Year’s Day 2025 changed all that, however…Trina and I tried the collard green soup at Hampton’s Restaurant in Sumter, and loved it, so I searched a recipe online and found one that I modified to our liking, which included adding in black eyed peas so I could meet all the New Year’s Day criteria, and along with some broccoli cornbread, it was quite the treat!
Try it, you won’t regret it!
